Disney Magic Booking Confirmation

Welcome aboard the Disney Magic’s UK Staycation

I went ahead and booked on to the Disney Cruise Lines Magic at Sea UK Staycations when they went on sale to the general public this morning at 9am.

I opted to book one of the later sailing dates. I still have my reservations namely:

  • It’s a lot of money for a short break
  • Lots of the experiences that would generally make the cruise magical will not go ahead as usual
  • We haven’t had our vaccinations
  • Our daughter might not tolerate the PCR test too well
  • Paying out lots of money to walk around for 3 days in our face masks

I could probably carry on but those are my main concerns. However, the excitement I felt booking the holiday made these worries momentarily melt away and I consoled myself with the Book with Confidence guarantee that Disney are offering. I will be paying close attention to how the Liverpool cruises go, as these take place more than 30 days before we go, so that still leaves us with time to cancel and receive a full refund.

It does feel nice having something big to look forward to as well but of course I am slightly apprehensive that it won’t go ahead and for this reason we will be keeping it a secret from our daughter for as long as possible (we have well and truly learnt our lesson).

We’re going to sail from Tilbury which is about half an hours drive away, so I’m thinking of picking my daughter up from school at lunch time on the Friday, whisking her away for a magical weekend and dropping her straight back at school on the Monday morning. I’ll have to figure out the logistics of the PCR testing nearer the time but for now I shall stick my head firmly in the sand and just enjoy the excitement at possibly having a holiday!
